Where, When, and How Project URGE Started
Since that first formal meeting in March of 2002, Project URGE has been bringing people of faith from suburban and rural churches together with those in the urban environment. The intent was to draw together people from many different faith and racial backgrounds and therefore be strengthened and have greater impact within our shared community. We recognized that there were many barriers that divided people of faith, but as we worked together some of these walls began to fall. Project URGE general meetings provided a forum for increased awareness, greater understanding, and collaboration in ministry. Project URGE has been and continues to be a catalyst for continued communication and connection among many different urban, suburban, and rural people and their churches and ministry organizations.
