Youth Mission & Children's Ministry

Project URGE is committed to getting involved with children and young people living in poverty.
Project URGE has facilitated connections among suburban and urban churches to provide Christian summer camps, for example the summer camp offered through Community Lutheran Ministries on Joseph Avenue in Rochester. We have also worked with Rochester Family Mission, Grace Community Village and Nevaeh in promoting and supporting programs for children.
In addition, we have initiated an Urban/Suburban Youth Mission program for older youth from a variety of backgrounds, as well as from different urban and suburban churches. The teens have done ministry projects together, participated in Bible study, and also have participated in social events and the Project URGE annual Concert of Praise. We believe that bringing diverse youth together has helped to break down the walls of race and church denomination which divide even Christians from one another.
